Since we have an amount of experience, which is enormous even if compared to international clinics, and since we are the only place in the country to have such advanced technology, we will give you a written GUARANTEE for the treatment.

Based on our experiences, we will assess the expected extent of the improvement of your visual acuity at the first exam, and you will get a written copy of this assessment. We will tell you how many diopters your vision will improve, if your body reacts to the treatment the usual way.
There is only one factor, which, even after thousands of treatments and using the most advanced technology, cannot be predicted: the potential hypersensitivity of “repairing” cells. This individual reaction means that cells try too hard to reconstruct the original (defective) shape of the cornea. The rate of improvement may be less than expected, if these cells are overactive. This individual reaction is usually considered by medicine to be a patient-related risk.
We at OPTIK+MED take this risk over: you are eligible for a medical warranty, if the improvement of your vision is less than predicted.
For example, if you are told that your vision will improve by 8 diopters, but the result is only a correction of 7 diopters, the treatment is repeated at no extra cost to you to achieve the expected improvement.

If for any reason, the surgery cannot be repeated, the total cost of the treatment will be refunded, which means that the 7-diopter correction was free.

All these repeated checks and rechecks may seem somewhat excessive, but we believe they are important for your safety and our assurance.

Effective. After an EAGLE EYE TREATMENT, visual acuity always improves. Not many medical interventions have the confidently predictable, guaranteed effectiveness Eagle Eye Laser Treatment has. So the question is not whether the patient has improved visual acuity after the treatment, the only question is how much the visual acuity will improve.

The rate of improvement depends on the “quality” of the treatment: what matters is how advanced the laser is, what method is used (traditional or EAGLE EYE® Laser Treatment), and how much experience backs up the intervention.

An advantage of Eagle Eye Treatment® over traditional treatments is that it can be tailored to individual needs perfectly, so it can correct latent refraction errors of the individual patient.

In many countries of the world, for professions requiring excellent visual acuity, health care authorities group laser-treated patients with patients who have never had a refraction error.

The laser creates a very slight modification on the surface of the cornea. However, the cornea has cells which try to heal even the tiniest changes.

This biologically useful function is very helpful, when we hurt our eyes during work or in an accident. At the same time, this protective reaction may risk the stability of the result of the laser treatment.
Corneal “repairing” cells do not know why the laser has changed the surface of the cornea, they only detect the change itself. That is why eye drops must be used to “convince” corneal cells not to “heal” the modifications serving to improve vision.

Repairing cells of the cornea usually take 6 months to “accept” the changes, after that, they do not try to restore the original (defective) shape of the cornea.
After 6 months, the cells will protect the laser-treated cornea shape against changes. From this point on, cells that have been “hostile” will become the ones protecting the results of the treatment for a lifetime.

One year after the laser treatment, not even an ophthalmologist can detect any traces of the treatment in the cornea, not even with special devices. Therefore, any ophthalmic treatments can later be performed (like cataract surgery, treatment of an accident etc.).

“It is like no laser treatment has ever been performed” – it has no trace and no later effects, only the one that patients will have clear vision for life.

2008: New Laser

Medical devices develop about as fast as computers. Nobody would call a 5-6-year-old computer state-of-the-art.

Laser works with an accuracy of over a thousandth of a millimeter. That means that it could draw this entire website, including the figures on a surface with an area of the cornea. EAGLE EYE Laser Treatment requires such incredible accuracy; with less advanced lasers, less visual acuity could be achieved.

The surface of the cornea shaped by new flying spot lasers is so smooth that not even electron microscopes can detect any irregularities. This extremely accurately shaped surface is one of the reasons why patients often see better than they used to with contact lenses or glasses.

During treatment, this laser is able to follow involuntary movements of the eye completely. It is controlled by the software that is used to control cruise missiles. The flying spot laser of Zeiss-Meditec is protected against power cuts; the treatment can be stopped and continued any time.
